The Puget Museum in Dalt Vila

The paintings in this museum offer a snapshot of rural life on the island and city of Ibiza and its environs, as well as its customs and rites throughout the twentieth century. The Puget Museum is dedicated to work by painters Puget Viñas and Puget Riquer and houses a collection of 130 pictorial works that introduce us to everyday life on the island in the mid-twentieth century. Located in Can Comasema, a palace in Dalt Vila, the museum is divided into several galleries according to painter. The galleries dedicated to Puget Riquer's work contain twenty-nine watercolours and twenty-nine drawings of the city of Ibiza's streets, landscapes and people. The galleries dedicated to works by his father, Puget Vines, feature forty-two oils and thirty drawings of rural life, women at the centre of family life and Ibiza's customs and rituals. Two other galleries have drawings by both artists on display. Puget Museum. Calle Sant Ciriac, 16. Dalt Vila Guided tours for students and groups. Free of charge.
