Inaugurated in 1994, the Marta Torres Gallery offers every year exhibitions of emerging artists along with other creators of national and international prestige, such as Carlos Sansegundo, María Ríos-Coello or Willie Márquez. In fact, artists such as Joan Miró, Manuel Viola, Elmyr de Hory or Miguel Barceló are part of its collection. We also find the works of the gallery's promoter, Marta Torres, an Ibizan painter who has been exhibiting her works in her own space since 1994. She has been painting professionally for more than 20 years. Before beginning her university studies in Fine Arts she liked to paint about the figure and the sea, but little by little she discovered sculpture, and began to experiment with the mixture of this discipline with painting. And from this union between sculpture and painting were born her "matter paintings", as she calls them, which have given her a unique and unmistakable style. Currently, the main theme of her works revolves around the walls, doors and windows of the country houses of Ibiza and Dalt Vila, although she is also interested in representing different places in the world. His creations take on special beauty with the representation of elements of nature very present on the island, such as almond trees, bougainvillea, the red earth of the island and the Mediterranean Sea.
