Madina Yabisa La Cúria Interpretation Centre

Casa de la Cúria has retrieved the memory of the ancient, medieval Muslim town of Madina Yabisa through audio-visual technology. Thanks to a joint project by the University of Barcelona and the Ibiza Town Council's Heritage Department, the Madina Yabisa Interpretation Centre was inaugurated in Dalt Vila's ancient Casa de La Cúria on May 2007. This modern interpretation centre uses audio-visual technology to show the history of the city of Ibiza, especially in the Madina Yabisa area during Muslim rule. One of the centre's most outstanding elements is the gallery that houses a scale model of the city's old fortifications, accompanied by an audio-visual documentary in several languages that show the city's history and evolution down the centuries. The Casa de La Cúria building was rehabilitated by architect Toni Marí, who designed the interior very carefully with tones and illumination that enhance visitors' experiences of the atmosphere and the excellent adaptation of the remains of the medieval wall. Free admission Opening hours: Tuesdays to Sundays from 10.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.
