Coves Blanques

Coves Blanques is situated next to the village of Sant Antoni de Portmany (called Portus Magnus by the Romans, Burtuman by the Arabs and Quartó by the Corona d'Aragó), located between Caló des Moro and the artificial breakwater of Port de Sant Antoni. This urban piece of coast is characterized by being quite small, it is u-shaped and it has gravel, pebbles and rocks, some low cliffs, surrounded by residential and touristy buildings next to the coastline, as well as by the absence of vegetation. The nearby Port de Sant Antoni is the biggest of the island, although it is the second most important after the marine infrastructure of Ciutat d'Eivissa, and it is less sheltered from the wind. It has 164 places for mooring leisure boats. After a short walk you can visit the hill in the surroundings called sa Talaia and Capella de Santa Agnès, a cave which was discovered in 1907 and later on declared Monumento Historicoartistico Nacional because it is a hypogean church with catacombs. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and the deviations. The private car can be left on a free parking area in the surroundings. You can also reach this beach with the public transport. The nearest bus stop is located at two hectometres. These characteristics explain that the beach of Coves Blanques is not very crowded by tourists. Information about this beach may change.
